I read a lot of success stories about online freelancing. I saw how "easy" other freelancer found a client and a job. How big their salary and how happy they are. But what is the reality of being a freelancer?

Working as a freelancer means equipping yourself with the knowledge and skills that you can offer to your client. Some freelancers enrolled in academies such as FVA Consultancy and etc. that offers online freelancing courses to aspirant freelancers. However, there are some freelancers who skipped this part and got hired even though they do not have any experiences. Along the way they acquired the necessary skills from their experience.

After equipping yourself with skills, it is time to look for a client. This may be the most challenging part, and this is the time you will realize that it is not easy to be a freelancer. You will get rejected a lot of times, and it may take time to land a job. There are cases that after a few applications they are hired, while there are some that took years or months to land their first job. Each individual would have different experiences, and you should ask yourself "Am I up for the challenge? Am I ready to take the risks?". When you are able to answer that question then you are up for the second phase of being a freelancer.
